HELENA, Mont. — The latest update on the sanctuary city debate between the City of Helena and Attorney General Austin Knudsen.
This comes after city officials sent a letter to Knudsen on April 1, which touched on their repealed Resolution 21062, an effort to distance local police from working with ICE agents during immigration operations.
Knudsen responded Friday, stating that “the investigation is closed since the resolution is repealed” and held his ground, reiterating that Montana Law says local government cannot “set their own immigration policies.”
